What is Title I ?
Title I is a federally funded program that provides extra help in reading and math. Kindergarten through third grade students are recommended for Title I services by their teacher from the previous year. Third grade students who score low on the EOG pre-test are also eligible. Fourth and fifth grade students can be in Title I if they score a one or two in math and/or reading.
Students are taught in small groups or left in the classroom settting where additional support is given. The staff consults with classroom teachers to determine areas in which each student can improve.
