The fifth graders here at Enochville are busy learning the different styles and way of writing poetry. We have learned about writing narrative, cinquain and lyrical poems, as well as reviewed a few others. One of the important factors for this year is to be able to read and comprehend the meaning of the poem, so as to be able to answer questions about the poem.  The EOG always has at least one poem included.
We are beginning our last region of the United States with the mountain states out west.  We will test on this after the Thanksgiving break, and will conclude with the 50 state test.  This will be a challenge for the students, but I know they are all very capable.  Please do help your child review these state locations every night.  Just ten minutes a night will make a huge difference.
As always, please call if you ever have a questions or concerns, and again, thank you for your continued support.  May you each have a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving and Christmas!  Jeanne Zentmeyer
