Week of Nov. 9 - Nov. 1

Middle Shool "Decades Dance" Fri. night

No school Wed. - Veterans' Day

 Writing:

Grade 7 will continue to study the the correct format for writing a formal business letter. A rough draft of a professional letter of complaint will be written in class.  Grade 6 will not have writing class because there is no school on Wed. Grade 8 will continue learning to diagram  sentences. This week we will study diagramming compound sentences.

 

Grade 8 Grammar: This week we will begin discussing possessive pronouns, possessive adjectives, intensive and reflexive pronouns, and begin studying pronoun/antecedent agreement. Daily classwork and homework will be assigned. There will be no test this week. 

Grade 8 Vocabulary: We will  begin studying the words, definitions and parts of speech for the words in Unit 4. Nightly review is essential. Daily classwork will be assigned. Work not finished in class must be finished at home.

Grade 7 Grammar:  We will then begin a new unit on pronouns. Personal pronouns (person, number, and gender) and nominative case pronouns (subject and subject complement) will be covered. Daily classwork and independent work will be assigned.

Grade 7 Vocabulary: There will be a test on Unit 3 on Tues. and then we will cover the Units 1 - 3 review (book pages 42-48).There will be no test on the review unit.

Grade 6 Grammar: We will continue the unit on pronouns this week. Intensive and reflexive pronouns and nominative case pronouns (subject and subject complement) will be studied. We will then begin looking at nouns in the objective case (direct object, indirect object, and object of preposition). Classwork and homework will be assigned. There will be no test this week.

Grade 6 Vocabulary: We will continue studying the words in Unit 3 and pages 39 - 42 will be assigned. There will be a test next week. Nightly review is essential.
