We are currently learning observational drawing skills and focusing on contour line drawing.  We will be sketching stuffed animals for an art piece. We are basing this project on "The Peacable Kingdom" by Edward HIcks.   Although I have about 30 stuffed animals in the art room, children are welcome to bring in a stuffed animal from home to sketch.  They should be no bigger than a backpack and should represent an animal - not an action figure or imaginary creature.

We will need these for 2 weeks the week of October 21st and the week of October 28th.  they may be kept in the classroom or the art room in my closet or bought to school only on art days.

4th graders will need a sketchbook by this Thursday.
Sketchbooks should be approximately 9x12 inches and have
unlined paper inside. The sketchbooks may be hardcover,
spiralbound or glued. Sketchbooks may be purchased at most
grocery stores and pharmacies in the school supply area,
as well as in office supply, art stores, book stores and
Walmart/Kmart.
