My Name is Lisa Berry. Welcome to my eportfolio. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Missouri Baptist University in 2002. I am working toward my Master of Arts in Teaching from Missouri Baptist University.
This is my 8th year of teaching. Currently I am teaching 5th Grade Math and Science at Sunrise Elementary, in DeSoto Missouri. I have three beautiful children who keep me very busy. I sing on the praise and worship team at church, and I love to travel and swim whenever possible.
This portfolio demonstrates my competence in the National Educational Technology Standards for teachers. I have included artifacts that I have created in this course as well as reflections on each of the standards.
I am striving to be an effective teacher by designing, and implementing educational learning experiences to engage students and improve learning. I will try to enrich their experiences by providing positive models using technology tools available in our digital world. Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual enviornments. Teachers enable students to demonstrate creative knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes by promoting and supporting student learning. I believe every student can be creative. It is amazing to watch a child at the beginning of the year, and follow their progress and growth throughout the school year.
The technology standards for teachers are organized into five broad categories. 1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity. 2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments. 3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning. 4. Promote and Model Digitial Citizenship and Responsibility. 5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership. I hope the ePortfolio provides examples of my various growth and professional technology levels that I have obtained.
