Dear Families,
For the next few weeks we will be taking an in depth look into buildings. When we are outside, children often ask questions about our building and the buildings in our community. The height of the school building, what it is made of and how strong it is. They also ask questions about how buildings look.
During our investigation we will take tours around the building, reading books related to building like "The three little pigs", and creating our own buildings. We will also compare matirials used to make a building, buildings made all over the world and the heights of buildings. Students will use units to count as well as use letters to "build" their name. We will also use critical thinking skills to investigate, ask questions, solve problems, make predictions, and test ideas.

What can you do at home?
Study your house or apartment building with your child. What materials were used to build it? How many floors or stories? How many rooms, Windows and doors in your home? Talk with your child about buildings that you see together. What do people do in the buildings and send in a list of buildings that interest your child.

At the end of the study we will have a special performance of the story " The three little pigs". Ask your child to retell and act out the story at home. Thank you for playing an important role in your child's learning.

Reminders: now that the weather is getting colder practice taking off and putting on coats, hats, and gloves.
Very important.! There was a typo on the resent letter regarding the Thanksgiving fest. It will be Tuesday, November 23.
