Also, please have your child practice reading the first 25 sight words, which are listed below. In 1 week we will add 25 more words, so it is important to practice the first 25 words everyday.

Math:

The math homework for this week may seem repetitive, but your child is also practicing their shapes this week.

The other part of the math homework is to get your child to write their numbers 1-100. So, they will be writing the numbers in groups of 20’s working their way up to 100. I know we already did this over the break, but I want them to have more practice.

Homework Packet 10/2/13-10/22/13

Reading:

Over Fall Break you need to have your child do 4 reading journal entries. Remember it is important to read with your child every night. While reading with your child, remember to ask comprehension questions along the way.

Also, please have your child practice the first 25 sight words, which are listed below.

Math:

The math homework for fall break may seem repetitive, but your child really needs practice in counting single objects and being able to write the number. Please allow your child to try and do this on their own. It would really help to use the hundreds chart I sent home. They can count the object and then count it on the hundreds chart, so they can figure out for themselves what the number looks like.

The other part of the math homework is to get your child to write their numbers 1-100. So, they will be writing the numbers in groups of 20’s working their way up to 100.

Reading: We are still finishing up ppracticing writing our alphabet letters. Please contine to help your child form the letters the correct way.

Math: We are working on writing our numbers. Please help them to recognize and write double digit numbers. I also added another hundreds chart for the students to work on writing all their numbers 1-100. It is important that your child can count a certain amount of objects and be able to write the number. This is what your child is getting tested on on Wednesdays.

Reading Nightly: Please remember how important it is for you to read with your child nightly. Ask your child questions throughout the story to check their comprehension. It is your child's job to do 2 reading journals every week. They are due on the same day as their homework. Remember, if your child does all their homework packets but not their reading journal, they will not be allowed to attend the end of the year field trip.

Math: This week your child needs to focus on working with a hundreds chart. I provided a full 100's chart so it makes it a little easier to start filling in the blanks. It is the goal to have your child writing their numbers 1-100 by the end of the year.

Reading/Language: This week we are still continuing to practice writiting our letters. The other part of our homework is having your child match capital letters to olwercase letters. It's imperative that your child knows their letters because it makes it easier to move into reading.

Nightly Reading: Please make sure that your child is reading every night and that they are doing 2 reading journal entries each week. If you need a reading journal, you can purchase them for $3 in the front office.
