Week of November 9 through November 13

6th Grade ELA with Mrs. Jones

This week the students will continue to work on their writing assignment. The students will also continue reading House On Mango Street. We will read the book as a class and complete the questions.

6th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will learn one step equations. Homework sheet will be given on Monday and it will be due on Friday.

7th Grade Math with Mrs. Davis

This week the students will learn to solve multi-step equations as well as variables on both sides of the equal sign.  Homework will be given on Monday and will be due on Thursday.ey will also continue to use the distributive property

8th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will continue working on the Pythagorean Theorem.  Homework will be given out on Monday and it will be due on Friday.

8th Grade Social Studies

This week the students will learn the main causes of the Civil War. They will review what they have learned through stations.

Week of November 2 through November 6

6th Grade ELA with Mrs. Jones

This week the students will continue to work on their writing assignment. The students will also start reading House On Mango Street. We will read the book as a class.

6th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will learn the properties (identity, associative and commutative). They will also continue to use the distributive property. Homework sheet will be given on Monday and it will be due on Friday.

7th Grade Math with Mrs. Davis

On Monday, the students will continue to work on the FAL: Solving Linear Equations. On Tuesday, they will begin a task named Tv Time and Video Games about inequalities.  Homework will be given on Monday and will be due on Thursday.ey will also continue to use the distributive property

8th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will learn the Pythagorean Theorem.  Homework will be given out on Monday and it will be due on Friday.

8th Grade Social Studies

This week the students will learn about the Civil Rights Movement. They will review what they have learned through stations.

Week of October 26 through October 30

6th Grade ELA with Mrs. Jones

This week the students will continue to work on their writing assignment. A persuasive essay in response to Resolved: Recess should/should not be added to the Middle School Program.

6th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will work on  writing algebraic expressions from words. Homework sheet will be given on Monday and it will be due on Friday.

7th Grade Math with Mrs. Davis

This week the students will complete a FAL lesson on solving Linear Equations. They will also work on a Task:Tv Time and Video Games. This is a task on inequalities. Homework will be given on Monday and will be due on Thursday.

8th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will work on converting numbers using scientific notation. There will be a Quiz on Friday. Homework will be given out on Monday and it will be due on Friday.

8th Grade Social Studies

This week the students will learn about the Industrial Revolution, The War of 1812, and the Indian Removal/The Trail of Tears. They will be given a Choice Board activity on Friday.

Monday the student s will work on organization of their notebooks for a notebook check next week. Tuesday through Friday the students will work on identifying the plot of a story.

6th grade Math with Ms. Hood

 This week the students will review equivalent ratios on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday the students will complete a learning task on ratios. On Thursday the students will begin a Grocery Store Ad activity. On Friday the students will complete practice stations for review.

7th  grade Math with Mrs. Davis

 On Monday, the students will complete their Whodunit Projects. On Tuesday, the students will present their Whodunit projects. On Wednesday through Thursday, the students will complete practice stations for review. On Friday, the students will take a quiz on rational numbers.

8th grade Math with Ms. Hood

 On Monday, the students will work on Triangle Exterior and Triangle Sum Theorems. On Tuesday through Wednesday, the students will work on a Performance Task on Dilations. On Thursday the students will complete a Rotation Station Performance Task. On Friday, the students will work on a Stations FAL.

8th grade Social Studies with Mrs. Lattimore

 On Monday and Tuesday, the students will receive instructions and work on their Skits. On Wednesday, the students will present their skits. On Thursday, the students will receive instructions and begin work on the Travel Guide Project. On Friday, the students will take a Quiz and continue to work on their Travel Guide.

Week of September 7-11, 2015

6th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will take a diagnostic test on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, the students will work on a Formative Assessment Lesson (FAL). THE STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A HOMEWORK SHEET THAT WILL BE DUE ON FRIDAY!

7th Grade Math with Mrs. Davis

This week the students will take a diagnostic test on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday the students will work on rational numbers, repeating and terminating decimals. On Friday, the students will work on adding and subtracting fractions. THE STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A HOMEWORK SHEET THAT WILL BE DUE ON FRIDAY!

8th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will take a diagnostic test on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, the students will work on parallel lines cut by a transversals. THE STUDENTS WILL BE GIVE A HOMEWORK SHEET THAT WILL BE DUE ON FRIDAY!

8th Grade Georgia Studies with Mrs. Lattimore

This week the students will work on the Colombian Exchange as well as Olgethorpe and the colinization of Georgia.

6th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will complete the FAL on Monday. On Tuesday through Thursday, they will work on ratios. On Friday, they will take a quiz on ratios. THE STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A MATH WORKSHEET FOR HOMEWORK AND IT WILL BE DUE ON THURSDAY!

7th Grade Math with Mrs. Davis

This week the students are working on Fractions. On Monday and Tuesday, they are working on multiplying and dividing Fractions. On Wednesday, they will have a quiz on fractions. On Thursday and Friday, they are working on a Performance Task named \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Whodunit\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" THE STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A MATH WORKSHEET FOR HOMEWORK AND IT WILL BE DUE ON THURSDAY!

8th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will continue working on angles. On Monday and Tuesday, they will work on angles of parallel lines cut by a transversal. On Wednesday, they will work on transversals and triangles. On Thursday and Friday, they will practice transformations for the QBA. THE STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A MATH WORKSHEET FOR HOMEWORK AND IT WILL BE DUE ON THURSDAY!

8th Grade Georgia Studies with Mrs. Lattimore

This week the students will work on the Colonization of Georgia.

WEEK OF AUGUST 17-21, 2015

6th Grade Math with Mrs. Davis

On Monday, the students will be working on Prime and Composite numbers. The rest of the week, the students will be working on finding the Greatest Common Factor of whole numbers. HOMEWORK WILL BE ON THE BOARD!

7th Grade Math with Mrs. Davis 

This week the students will be working on adding and subtracting Integers. HOMEWORK WILL BE ON THE BOARD!

8th Grade Math with Ms. Hood

This week the students will be working on Transformations by translations and reflections. HOMEWORK WILL BE ON THE BOARD!!

6th Grade Social Studies with Ms. Hudson

This week the students will be working on the Geography of Europe. They will need to identify the physical features as well as the countries on a map. There will be a Post Card Activity that each student is responsible for completing. On FRIDAY, there will be a TEST on the geography terms and labeling the countries.

The students will be working on a Task using Least Common Multiple and Greatest Common Factor. This is to be done in the classroom. HOMEWORK WILL BE POSTED ON THE BOARD!

This week the students will be working  the physical features of Georgia on a map. Towards the end of the week, they will begin the Native American Periods.
