Hello everyone!

Your students sure made the rainy day brighter with their enthusiasm and excitement in our learning today.

In reading your students read another chapter of our book Edward Tulane. They then engaged in an academic conversation using evidence from the text (WOW!)

In writing we finished/almost finished our narrative writing piece which we plan on showing families tomorrow!

In math we continued our learning up to the hundred thousands place and compared and ordered numbers. We took a small exit ticket just to check for understanding which was sent home today.

In social studies we finished our flip books which explained city, state, country and continent to begin to help your student see themselves in the context of our earth.

Finally in religion we started the conversation about acrostic poems which they will be using to write about Faith based on our readings.

Your students are working so hard and they truly make my job so wonderful!

Happy Monday!

We had another great day today!

Your students worked on commands, exclamatory sentences, statements and questions in grammar and are continuing to show strength.

In writing your students focused on the importance of a lead, the different versions of leads and even applied their new knowledge to their own personal narrative that they are writing!

We also continued with our reading of Edward Tulane and answered critical thinking questions while providing evidence from the text. This was not an easy task, but your students were up to the challenge!

Please remind your student to practice their spelling words tonight, we have our spelling test tomorrow : )

Happy Thursday!

Ms. Gwynn

Dear Families,

Today we have a very successful day filled with learning and cooperation.

Your students are working hard at answering comprehension questions that pushes them to inference (not an easy task !). We read the story Grandfather's Journey and worked through 3 very difficult questions. We also read our classroom story Edward Tulane and focused on finding evidence in the text to support our answers.

In math your students worked on ordering numbers and comparing numbers in the ones, tens and hundreds place.

We are also spending time each day on grammar and spelling. Your students hard work in these areas will make their writing easier and make them even more confident in their abilities.

Can't wait for another great day!

Ms. Gwynn
