Welcome to 5th and 6th Grade           O.A.S.I.S.

Fifth graders, begin checking out the links at the bottom of the page for Pioneer information.  It may be helpful in writing your journal entry.

6th Grade Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
  • Read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling.  Make notes on character traits and activities of Hagrid.
  • Alternative reading assignment for mock trials:  Exploring the Titanic by Robert D. Ballard   ISBN 0-590-1952-8.  If you want to base your trial work on the Titanic, there will be additional reading, but start with this book.  Lakeview library has numerous copies of Exploring the Titanic.  Let them know it is for an OASIS project when checking it out at the school library and they will allow you to keep it for a month.
  • You only need to read ONE of the above books.  Any questions click on the "Contact Mrs. Gloria Komar" link at the top of the page or stop in my room next week.
        Enjoy your reading!
