Welcome to 5th and 6th Grade
O.A.S.I.S.

 Week of November 9 - 13, 2009
   ALL 6th Graders -
You will find some researching links at the bottom of this page.  There is a brief description about each site.  As always, please clear any Internet researching you are doing with your parents.  Additionally, there is a link to EasyBib, which will create bibliographies or reference lists. (For our purposes, they are the same thing.)

    6th Graders - Tuesday
  • You need to be thinking about a topic for your research project, which involves creating a learning center.   You will need to have this decided by class time next week.
6th Graders - Thursday and Friday
  • Webbing p. 7 in the Whitewater Packet - complete as much as you can at this point
  • Bring in research materials next week for your Independent Research Project.  You can bring in books and/or Internet articles, which you have printed.
  • We will be using them to start your bibliography and begin researching.  Remember the project requires a minimum of 5 reference materials, but it is not necessary to bring all 5 with you to class.

  Week of November 16- 20, 2009

  5th Graders -
Monday & Wednesday
  • Study the ABC's of Crime found in your packet - you can use the flashcards that are found at the bottom of this page to help you learn the names of the crimes.

  6th Graders -
Tuesday
  • Bring in research materials for your Independent Research Project.  You may bring in books and/or Internet articles which you have printed off.
  6th Graders - Thursday & Friday
  • Bring in research materials for your Independent Research Project.  We will continue researching, and discuss your centers.  We will talk about what to include in your center, center design, using Bloom's Taxonomy  and more.  You should have completed about 2/3 of your research by the time we meet in December for class.  Have a great time at camp and a Happy Thanksgiving!
