Thank you chorus parents and grandparents for bringing your students to the Bill Drake Music Festival in Spartanburg. Our chorus was superb! From their behavior on and off the stage to their spectacular performance, I could not have been more proud. Thank you for having them at rehearsal each week and making the extra effort to have them present for this weekend festival. Let's keep making music!
P.S. Thank you to those of you who sent pictures and videos of the performance!
Welcome back to another wonderful year at Monarch Elementary School! Believe it or not we are already working on auditions for our Veteran's Day and Christmas programs in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. What wonderfully talented children we have! The decision for parts is never easy! The holidays will be here before you know it so I will be sending more information home as soon I get the details finalized.
Our newest addition to the music program is our Steel Drum Band. This band is made up of 18 4th and 5th grade students and we are off to a great start! Our practices are at 7:30 on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. We look forward to playing for everyone soon!
I hope everyone is enjoying the school year so far. We are blessed to have a principal and faculty that truly love children and want them to be successful, productive members of society. May the God-given gift of music enrich and encourage them as they grow and learn here at Monarch Elementary. We are making everyone STARS!
The Second Grade classes at Monarch Elementary told the story of "The Littlest Reindeer" at our December PTO and brought down the house! What a great group of students. They worked hard so that they knew their lines and songs perfectly and both teachers and parents were amazed at the results of their hard work. Thank you second graders and second grade teachers for helping to make our first Christmas musical a huge success! And remember, God made us different on purpose. No matter how different we are from one another, everyone has a special gift to share with the world around them. Let's share!
Wow! What a great night with the wonderful residents at Oakmont Nursing Home. The students made homemade jingle bells to share with the residents and play as we sang. Thank you Oakmont for allowing us to come share some Christmas cheer. We hope to come back again!
Hey everyone! Come out and support our Monarch Elementary chorus as they sing at the Christmas Open House downtown on November 17th (time and specific location to be announced as I receive it from the Chamber of Commerce) and December 8th at 6:00 p.m. at Oakmont Nursing Home in Union.
See you there!
