Bonjour et bonne année à tous!

Below is a modified schedule based on the shortened week.

Kindergarten: We will continue to work on our body parts with a review of greetings, numbers and the alphabet.

1st-3rd gardes: With a new year we are starting a new topic. This week we will be learning about fruits in French. There will only be homework if students don't finish something we are working on in class. A good website to check out to see and hear the different words for fruits is http://www.languageguide.org/french/vocabulary/fruit/

4th grade: This week we will continue to work on classroom phrases and commands. We will have some fun review activities in class. Thursday students will be assigned a study guide homework assignment to help them prepare for the quiz we will be having next Monday.

5th/6th grades: With a new year we will start a new topic. Actually, these classes are greatly impacted by the 2 snow days that were taken. Wednesday we will go over a grammar topic of indefinite articles and plural nouns. No homework. Catch up if you are behind on anything.

7th grade: This week we will continue to work on classroom phrases and commands. We will have some fun review activities in class. Thursday students will be assigned a study guide homework assignment to help them prepare for the quiz we will be having next Monday.

8th grade: A new year and a new topic-we will review the verb AVOIR-to have and learn several idiomatic expressions that use avoir in their formation. Homework assigned Friday.

Bonjour à tous! Hello and welcome to the Murray French page.

This is what we will be doing in our classes this week.

Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Grades:

Les couleurs! We are working on identifying and writing the words for colors. Parents, ask your students to name the colors of different objects. Here\'s a list for you:

Red=Rouge

Orange=Orange (that\'s a hard one!)

Yellow=Jaune

Green=Vert

Blue=Bleu

Purple=Violet

Pink=Rose

Brown=Marron

Black=Noir

Grey=Gris

White=Blanc

4th Grade:

We finished last week with a quiz on numbers and age phrases. This week we will go over some grammar structures, specifically identifying the subjects and verbs in French sentences and using different subject pronouns. We will compare and contrast some cultural points in the United States with those of francophone countries. Finally, we will be introduced to some classroom objects.

5th and 6th grades:

We will touch on grammatical structures and review which subject pronouns to use in sentences. We will also be introduced to the vocabulary for classroom objects. Students should be able to identify an array of objects and state the quantity of them.

7th grade:

We will begin the week by finishing our study of numbers to 100 and age phrases. Students will take a quiz on this vocabulary. Then we will have a quick review of the grammatical structures by identifying the subjects and verbs of French sentences and deciphering which subject pronouns to use in sentences. We will discuss some cultural points in francophone countries. Finally we will dive into a new lesson on classroom objects.

8th grade:

This week we will commence our study of classroom objects. Some objects will be a review for students, but we will work on expanding our vocabulary and focus on writing the words. Towards the end of the week try pointing to an object that can be found in a classroom and ask your student \"Qu\'est-ce que c\'est?\" Qu\'est-ce que c\'est means \"What\'s this?\" and sounds like kess kuh say. See if your student can respond.
