The kids did a great job during the all school Mass on Friday! I hope you get a chance to go and enjoy the Oktoberfest today. The kids always enjoy playing all the games and seeing their friends from school!

This Tuesday, it is McTeacher Night at the Stadium McDonalds from 4:00 to 8:00. You received a flyer on this in your child’s folder last week. Please join us, I will be there from 4:00-5:00. Another great fundraiser!

We will kick off the Read-a-Thon fundraiser this Friday. The Theme is “Reading is my Superpower!” Look for the Read-a-Thon packet in your child’s folder on Friday. The goal is for each family to reach a $130.00 donation. Each family who reaches the $130.00 donation will have their name put into a raffle for 4 different great prizes.

The class in each grade level with the highest participation rate in meeting the family goal of donating $130.00 will win a Class Kona Ice Party! No pressure, but my class won this last year! The kids were so excited to get a Kona Ice during school!

Wednesday, October 14 is a Super Hero or favorite literary character dress-up day for the students. Friday, October 16th- K-5th grade Family Literacy Night 5:00pm-7:00pm. Family Literacy Night is always a fun event for our school families.

Thank you for sending in the family photo page and information page. I started to send home the whole class family album this past Wednesday. I will send the album home each day with a different student. The child will need to bring the photo album back to class the next day.

Reminder: The Scholastic book orders are due tomorrow, Monday, October 5th. You may order books online or you may send in the order with a check.

On your child’s Friday progress report, I wrote down some of the skills I have assessed so far that your child might need a little extra practice to master. We will continue to work on these skills during class, but extra help at home will benefit your child. Friday, October 16th is the last day of the first quarter. Parent/Teacher conferences are on Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23rd.
