TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20TH

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING HALLOWEEN PROGRAM, NEXT THURSDAY, OCT. 29TH

DRESS FOR HALLOWEEN PROGRAM: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29TH:

  • Chorus students are permitted to wear a Halloween costume for this program. They are not expected to wear black and white dress for this program. Black and white dress will be for the Christmas program on Thursday, December 17th.
  • Please make sure that the student’s costume is age appropriate and follow dress code standards.
  • Please do not create a “gorey” costume with lots of blood dripping from the mouth, or smeared over your child’s body. We want our costumes and appearance to be “scary/safe fun”. We don’t want students to look like “extras” for the famous show “The Walking Dead”.
  • Makeup on the face is permitted, but as stated above, please make sure the makeup is age appropriate.
  • If your child is planning on dressing as a ghost, please make sure they can walk safely with extra material surrounding their feet and legs. Our entire program involves moving around the stage and moving in place with various dance steps. Their costume should also keep their vision clear so they can see me and not worry about tripping and falling because they cannot see appropriately.

ATTENDANCE OF AFTERNOON REHEARSALS ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 27TH AND 28TH:

  • Students who miss either one of the afternoon rehearsals will NOT be permitted to participate in the Halloween program on Thursday, October 29th. Our practice time is very important. If your child misses one of these vital rehearsals they will not feel prepared for the show.
  • If your child is running a fever and is throwing up on the days of the afternoon rehearsals or the day of the program, they will be excused and allowed to participate in the concert as long as they are not still running a fever the evening of the performance. If they still have a fever, they could be contagious, and could accidentally infect other children. This is flu season, so please be considerate and helpful to other families by keeping your child home if you know they are sick with a fever.
  • If there is a death in the family, and you happen to be out of town on family business o either one of these days, your child will be excused, and allowed to participate in the program.

ARRIVAL AT CAFETERIA THE NIGHT OF THE SHOW:

  • There will be NO afternoon rehearsal after school on Thursday, October 29th on the day of our Halloween program night. Do not have your child stay after school because their will be no one at the school to take care of them, and no one to pick them up and help them prepare for the concert that evening.
  • Students should arrive at the cafeteria no later than 6:30pm dressed and ready to sing. If they arrive earlier, you and your child will be asked to wait outside the cafeteria until 6:30pm.
  • Students should not arrive any earlier, because the doors will not open to the general public until 6:30pm. There are students restroom on either side of the cafeteria if your child needs to use the restroom.
  • After meeting in the cafeteria, Jr. Chorus students will be directed to the music room for last minute reminders and warm-ups. Sr. Chorus students will be directed to the portable across from Ms. Forhan’s classroom.
  • The back gate will not be opened. Please come to the bus circle side of the school when dropping your child off for the program. I hope all this information helps! The Halloween program is so much fun! You will enjoy every minute!
