Hello,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend !

Our students as a whole did well on the Science and Religion midterms, but didn't fare as well on the Social Studies exam.  I took the liberty of sending home an extra credit assignment which will count as a quiz assessment and will help raise the grades. it was given out on Friday and is due on Monday. No exceptions. I will not be accepting it late for I must enter the grades no later than Monday evening. Also, I will be giving a quiz on Hinduism as another assessment on Monday.

For any student who received a  Deficiency letter, it must be signed and returned no later than Monday as well. I sent them out about three weeks ago.

Also, this week is Catholic schools week. We will be having visitors and many fun activities throughout the week.  Such as  a tailgate party where are students can wear a jersey of their favorite team or  player or wear their favorite team colors. We will also be serving food for all who  choose to pay for it. This is an optional event.

For the students and parents who choose not to participate, a school lunch will be provided or as always, they may bring their own lunch.

The cost is $8 per student. We will be having mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and other goodies as well.

Friday, February 3rd will be a half  day for the students and the Lip Sync contest.

Thursday will be crazy hat and sock day.

Wednesday will be our tailgate party.

Tuesday will be open House.

There be a Mass , Monday , January 30th at 9:30 a.m.

The theme for Catholic Schools week will be " Faith , Knowledge and Values. "

One more item, our school science fair will be on Tuesday, February 21st, with the Mount St. Michael's fair that will take place  sometime in March.

We will be doing work on our projects for the next several weeks and I will monitor the students progress.

The project must be an experiment, which means it must have a hypothesis , data , and pictures or charts and a conclusion. " Lava lamps and volcanoes " will not be accepted this year.  Mr. Klice and the school are stepping up our efforts to improve the quality and interest in our science projects.

Mr. Klice and I have been in much discussion and we have enlisted the help of Ms. Henry,  a conflict resolution teacher who has been and will be working with our students on resolving issues that our students have. I had done an extensive  lesson on bullying and we are in the process of creating posters that will depict

appropriate behaviors on how to identify , and curtail bullying. They will be displayed throughout the school. Mr klice and I take this very seriously and we have used and will continue to use all appropriate measures at our disposal to stop the issues in the class.

We certainly have had an extremely productive second quarter academically. There have been very many assessments, such as tests and quizzes. We have had some ups and we have had some downs, but I stress to my students that conflicts are really an opportunity in disguise and that we grow and learn from difficult times.

As a class, we continue to pray together and ask Almighty God to give us the strength and help we need each day.

My best friend, Father John tells me often that " God doesn't come in our time, He comes right on time."

Please continue to pray for me as I pray for all of you.

Yours in Christ !

Frank Maselli

PEACE to ALL  !!!!!!
