Dear Pre-K Parents,

The next couple of weeks we will study, "Balls." We will discuss different types of balls, how people use balls, what they are made of, what is inside them and how high they can bounce. The ball study will be in conjunction with the New York State Prekindergarten Foundation for the Common Core.

As we study balls, we will learn concepts and skills in literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts, and technology. We will be using thinking skills to investigate, ask questions, solve problems, make prediction, and test our ideas.

To help encourage at home enrichment I would ask if you and your child can find different types of balls in your home and bring them to school so we can study them. Please write your child's name on the ball and they will be returned to him/her at the end of the study.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Sincerrly,

Ms. Cantarella

Welcome to Pre-K 2!

I'm excited to begin the 2015-2016 school year with you and your children! Pre-K is a year of growing socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Your involvement, interest and enthusiasm will help make this a wonderful year of growth for you and your child. The skills we practice daily in our Pre-K classroom are the building blocks for your child's future success in school and in life!

Sincerely,

Ms. Cantarella
