This week begins or Georgia Milestones Assessment Testing. Testing will go from April 4th - April 20th. 6th Graders will be taking the Writing/English Language Arts and Mathematics portions of the test.
6th Graders will begin April 4th with writing portion of the test. When they are not testing they will be reviewing each content area daily.
Please make sure students get plenty of rest each night and that they get to school on time.
This is our last week before the start of GMAS testing. GMAS testing will begin on April 4th and go through April 21st.
This week my Science classes will be conducting a CISM lesson.
My Social Studies class will be learning about European Exploration.
Report Cards will go out this Thursday, March 30.
Students are to be studying daily for GMAS and SGM testing.
Science:
This week we will be reviewing our on unit on Geology in preparation for a unit assessment on Friday.
Monday - Students will receive a study guide. We will be working on it in class and they are to study it at home each day.
Friday- Unit Test on Geology
It will cover: Layers of the Earth, Rocks/Rock Cycle and minerals, weathering and erosion, soil, Continental Drift Theory, Fossils, and Plate Tectonics.
Social Studies:
This week we will start our unit on History. We will be covering various wars including the two world wars and the Cold War.
I am after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:15 to 5:15 for students who need to make up any failed or missing work.
Science:
This week we will be discussing fossils and what they can tell us about how Earth's surface and climate have changed over time.
Social Studies:
This week we will be reviewing and testing on Economics.
Science:
This week we finish up Plate Tectonics and move on to our section on fossils.
Social Studies:
We will be continuing our unit on Economics.
