Begin Esperanza Rising (pgs. 1-22)
The novel study will include author notes over Pam Munoz Ryan and an emphasis on the elements of plot and characterization. Students will engage in shared class reading, teacher-led reading, and independent reading. Comprehension will be measaured through class discussion, reading logs, quizzes, reading guides, summaries, and journal entries. Wednesday: quiz/discussion over yesterday's reading read pgs. 23-38 10 questions/answers
