7th Grade Social Studies
This year in social studies, we will be exploring Southwest Asia (aka the Middle East), Southern and Eastern Asia, and Africa! I am so very excited to be taking this journey with you and your child(ren). So grab your gear we're heading on one wild ride. Don't forget your passport!!!
This week we will identify and locate selected countries and physical features of the Middle East.
Monday: Introduction to the Middle East. Locating Southwest Asia on a world map.
Tuesday: Students will locate select countries on a political map of the Middle East.
Wednesday: Students will locate select physical features on a physical map of the Middle East. Introduction to Hidden Treasures performance task.
Thursday: Students will complete the Hidden Treasures performance task. Geography review.
Friday: Geography of the Middle East Quiz. Population distribution in the Middle East assignment.
***Homework: Bring signed copy of syllabus by Friday August 26. 2016***
6th Grade
This week we will finish Australia and began reviewing for the GMAS. We also take the last QBA this week!
Monday: Complete Australia booklet, begin GMAS review
Tuesday: (Block Scheduling) Canada Study Guide, Review European Geography
Wednesday: (Block Scheduling) I won't see you today
Thursday: Population Distribution, Standard of living, and Literacy Rate Review
Friday: QBA Testing

This week we will finish the unit on government and we will also take our last QBA test before GMAS. Reminder: students can only take a re-test on the Government quiz if they have brought back their test with parent signature
