6th Grade

This week we will be continuing our exploration of Canada. We will discuss  population distribution and environmental issues in Canada.

 

Monday: Introduction to Canada's environmental issues. 4 square note foldable.

Tuesday: Environmental issues continued. Book activity.

Wednesday: (Block Schedule) Students won't see me today.

Thursday: Review of environmental issues in Europe, Latin America, and Canada.

Friday: Map quiz of Canada.

8th Grade

This week we will be talking about Georgia's growth from 1945-1970. We will focus on Georgia's entrepreneurs and the Civil Rights Era. I am planning to so a Civil Rights Simulation with every class on Thursday and Friday. This will give the students an idea about segregation and how things would be if segregation was still legal today.I will send out a letter that will give out more details.

6th Grade

This week, we will continue talking about Latin America and the Caribbean. We will discuss the types of economic systems found there and by the end of the week, we will begin a new country: Canada!

 

Monday: MLK Holiday. School Closed

Tuesday: (Block Scheduling) Latin American Independence Movement quiz. Economic Tri fold and notes.

Wednesday: (Block Scheduling) Students won’t see me today.

Thursday: Economics guided notes.

Friday: Canada political and physical map labeling.

 


 

 

8th Grade

This week we will discuss issues that arise in Georgia shortly after WWI. Some of these things include the effect of the boil weevil on Georgia’s agricultural economy, the Great Depression, and FDR’s New Deal.
