Parents thank you for all that you do and being an active participant in your child’s education. Students please make sure you are doing your classwork and homework on a daily basis to ensure you are prepared for 7th grade.

Sixth Graders-
This week in 6th grade Language Arts we will we will continue working within our poetry unit. Students will be composing various poems to be placed inside of their poetry portfolio. We will also begin reading our last novel for the 4th nine weeks which is Holes. Students will be completing hands on activities regarding the novel. For our grammar section students will learn sentence structure.
Parents and students please make sure you aren’t using texting language when you’re writing. Writing is very essential this year because all grade levels will be required to take writing test at the end of the school year. Practice makes perfect, SO STUDENTS PRACTICE YOUR WRITING ON A DAILY BASIS.

Monday- complete sentence structure handout
Tuesday- complete acrostic poem
Wednesday- read AR book
Thursday- read AR book
Friday-No homework
Remember reading is fundamental- It expands your vocabulary, and it is a known fact it raises your IQ level, so READ, READ, READ!!!!!!
