Aaaahhhh!!

Feeling anxious about science fair? Here are a few "okay" videos that can help:

How to Create Science Projects

*Caution- not all project examples shown in the video are experimental investigations with a control group. Show and tell demonstrations such as a volcano are not allowed. Design projects must solve a real-world engineering problem. It is bad science to allow the investigator or researcher be a test subject in the experiment. Your sample size should include at least 10 or more subjects of the same age and perhaps gender, unless you are testing differences in gender. Additionally, if a project involves the use of humans, vertebrates, microorganisms (approved cultures only), recombinant DNA, vertebrate tissue or firearms, students must complete the appropriate request for endorsement before engaging in experimentation. (obtain endorsements on http://cpsscifair.org/ ). Once approval has been granted from the Scientific Review Committee students would be allowed to begin experimentation.

NOTE: For projects conducted in a university, hospital or research laboratory under the supervision of a Doctor, Professor or Scientist, endorsement(s) and supporting documents are due October 25, 2019.  All other endorsements must be submitted in duplicate by November 22, 2019.

Endorsement requests MUST be made PRIOR to experimentation in order to ensure the safety of the test subject(s) and/or the scientist (may be submitted electronically via http://cpsscifair.org). The project plans are reviewed by the Scientific Review Committee and, if safe, the endorsement is granted, and the experiment may be carried out.  Permission to carry out an experiment CANNOT be given to one that has already been completed (experiments acquired online or same experiment you  conducted in a previous year).
