Happy Last Week of School
As we close out the 2016-2017 school year, I would like to thank you all for allowing me to teach your children this school year.
My grades have been posted and report cards go home on the last day of school: Friday, May 26th.
Please make sure students continue to come to school on time and that they are on their best behavior this week.
On Monday, May 15th, Science students will be taking the Science Student Growth Measure Assessment. We have been reviewing in class and the students have been working on study guides.
We have also began teaching up. Students have started learning the life science material that they will be taught next year in 7th Grade.
Please continue to make sure students come to school every day and get here on time.
Science: This week we will be finishing our last unit of Earth Science and beginning our review for SGMs.
Social Studies: We will be continuing our unit on History.
GMAS testing is now over students have now returned to their block schedule classes.
Progress reports will go out Tuesday, April 25th.
Students who need to make up work need to make arrangements to stay with me on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays after school.
This week:
Science - We will be covering our last Earth Science Unit which is on Conservation of Natural Resources
Social Studies - We will be covering various topics of history including Slavery, The Conquistadors (Aztecs and Incas), Australia, and Canada.
Although GMAS testing is over, students must now prepare for Student Growth Measure Assessments (SGMs) for Science and Social Studies in May. Next week we will begin reviewing for these assessments.
Week 2 of GMAS testing
Students took the Writing/English Language Arts portion on the test last week. This week they will be doing the Math portion. When students are not testing they will continue to review all content areas.
Please make sure students get plenty of rest and get to school on time.
