In reviewing the state writing papers or your own essays, look for the following: good into using words from the prompt, good closing sentences for each paragraph and lead in sentences functioning as transitions between paragraphs, transition words, elevated vocabulary words, support for each idea (fries or fires), "voice and freshness of expression, and finally a good conclusion which is not too repetitive.
