Please read the following information and rules and sign at the bottom of the sheet: (Return to Mrs. Allen by or before Monday, August 25th)
1. Students participating in Chorus must have the following clothing attire for performances: Girls: a white blouse or dress shirt and a black, knee length skirt or black dress pants. If you prefer to wear all black, this is also acceptable. Girls are encouraged to wear pretty hair accessories for the Christmas and spring program (Jewelry, hair accessories, etc.) Boys: white dress shirt and black dress pants. Boys are encouraged to wear red ties for Christmas program and pastel colors for the spring program. Boys also may wear black pants with a black dress shirt if preferred. (If you have a financial need, please let me know and we will discuss options.)
2. The MBE Chorus is a music program that includes singing, some movement (choreography), and playing various instruments. If you join Chorus, you will be expected to learn the songs and sing each week at rehearsal and at the performances scheduled for the school year.
3. Regular attendance at rehearsals is critical for successful performances. You may not miss more than 2 rehearsals in a nine week period. Late arrival creates disruption and loss of rehearsal time. Please be on time each week for rehearsal. Accumulated tardiness will be noted and may keep you from being able to be a part of chorus depending on the circumstances. Please be certain that you use the restroom prior to rehearsal. Rehearsal begins promptly at 2:45 pm. You will not be permitted to use the restroom at or after 2:45 pm. If you choose to bring a water bottle to class, please be certain that you bring your water bottles to chorus filled. You will not be permitted to fill your water bottle at or after 2:45 pm.
4. Respectful behavior is expected at all times during rehearsals and performances. You are a representative of Middleburg Elementary School and will uphold high standards of behavior and performance at school and away from school. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. You will be warned, and then asked to leave rehearsal if disruption is continuous.
I have read and understand the rules. I understand that if I choose not to follow the rules, I will not be allowed to participate in Middleburg Elementary Chorus.

Just Give Me the Beat
Just give me the beat, the beat,
The B-E-A-T.
There are no words (no words)
There is no tune (no tune)
Just give me the beat, the beat, the B-E-A-T.
(Rap)
You know that rhythm is something that will make you move,
From your head, to your hips, down to your shoes.
The rhythm keeps a-rockin’
As you rap and rhyme.
You always do it best when you stay in time.
Shine– Dave Crowder Band
(Vs. 1) Send a sign
A hint, a whisper
Fill me with life
‘Cause I am listening
Come break the quiet
Breathe your awakening
Bring me the light
‘Cause I am fading
Surround me with the rush of angels’ wings
(Chorus 1)
Shine Your light so I can see You
Pull me up, I need to be near You
Hold me, I need to feel loved
Can you overcome this heart that’s overcome?
(Vs. 2) You sent a sign
The hint, the whisper
Human, divine
Everyone is listening
Death laid low
Quiet in the night is stirring
All around the rush of angels
(Bridge) O the wonder of the greatest love has come
(Repeat chorus)

Jingle Bell Rock
Words and Music by Joe Beal and Jim Boothe
Vs. 1: Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock, jingle bell swing and jingle bells ring. Snowin’ and blowin’ up bushels of fun; now the jingle hop has begun.
Vs. 2: Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock, jingle bell chime in jingle bell time; Dancin’ and prancing’ in the jingle bell square; in the frosty air.
What a bright time, it’s the right time to rock the night away. Jingle bell time is a swell time to go glidin’ in a one-horse sleigh. Giddyap, jingle horse, pick up your feet, jingle round the clock; Mix and mingle in a jinglin’ beat, that’s the jingle bell rock.
(Guitar solo)
(Repeat, “What a bright time…”
Second ending:
That’s the jingle bell, that’s the jingle bell rock
