Dear Magnet Parents:

After speaking with students last week, I realize there is a great amount of confusion among many students concerning the project in science they were assigned for this 9 weeks.  This was especially evident for students working on the Web Quest project. Therefore, I am extending the due date for both projects. Students may turn-in their projects on Monday, October 10, with no penalty.  I am also posting the Web Quest on schoolnotes.com, so that students may easily access the links to the websites where they will find the information they need.  If students turn-in their projects on October 10, the grade will be counted for the 2nd 9 weeks. You can find the webquest project under the "Files" tab; It is the file called Mineral Project.docx.

I am still accepting projects tomorrow, October 4, which was the original due date. Students who still turn-in their projects tomorrow will receive extra credit and their grade will show in the upcoming report card.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me at [email protected] or call the school at 706-569-3740.

Parents and students,

This week, we will be getting our text books. We will be studying the process of scientific exploration and the main components of Earth science.

Homework for the week will consist of making note cards for terms found in our books. On Friday, we will have our first test in Earth science of the year; It is a vocabulary test over those terms.

Students should be studying the terms nightly using their notecards as a study tool.

Greetings, Parents and Students!

I am super excited about the new school year, and I hope you are, too! The first week of school is always very hectic, so please be patient as we work hard to make your transition into middle school nice and easy.

Students will be receiving a syllabus from me on Monday. We will begin learning my classroom and procedures, as well as learning a little bit about each other.  Books should be distributed next week as well.

You can come to this page to view homework assignments on a daily basis. I will also be posting updates and important information on my blog, found here on this site. My blog entries from last year, when I taught Language Arts, are still there; I am working to delete them.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me at: [email protected]. Additional contact information can be found in the Contact Information Link on this page.

I look forward to meeting your student on Monday!
