Dear Kindergarten Parents,
Just a few notes about Tuesday:
Students come to school dressed in “Sunday Best” clothes at 7:55 in our usual spot by the gate. No backpacks, folders or snacks.
Parents come to the gym at 9:30.
After the ceremony, please take your child’s butterfly and poster off the wall to bring home.
The “diploma” they receive on the stage is just a blank piece of paper so don’t worry about it if they misplace it or wrinkle it. The real diploma will be in a large white envelope in the cafeteria along with the summer work packet and the report card. There will also be a gift on the table. Please make sure to take these things after the ceremony along with the art packet from Mrs. Brembs.
No school for Kindergarten after Tuesday.

Dear Kindergarten Parents,
This week we will be reading about American Symbols from ELA Domain 12. We will continue practicing our sight words and finding the context clues in the stories we read.
In Math, we are on Module 5, Topic D. This unit is about counting to 100 by tens. Module 6 is in the back of the workbook that we have been using. We will not be doing the pages in class but we have covered the material in a lot of projects we’ve done. It might be a good idea to do those pages this summer!
Our Science lessons this week are about water safety. For Social studies, we will be practicing for the Moving Up Ceremony.
Our Religion chapter tells us about being friends with Jesus.
See you all at the Barbeque Thursday night!

Thank you all for coming to the show. Our fireflies were the best!
This week, our ELA lessons continue with studies of animal habitats. We are learning to find the facts in stories to answer questions. We will continue to practice the sight words every day.
In Math, we are on Module 5, Topic C. We will represent numbers in tower configurations.
Our Social Studies and Science lessons are related to our ELA topic.
Please remember that dismissal on Friday is 12:00.

We will also have rehearsal for the Music program.
We will be going to the book fair only on Monday and Tuesday.
In between all this, we will try to keep our routine as much the same as possible.

This week in ELA, we will continue with Taking Care of Earth, Domain 11. We will also continue with long vowel sounds in phonics.
In Math, we are on Module 4, Topic F. We will represent addition and subtraction stories with nine and ten objects.
The caterpillars have arrived for our latest science project. We will be charting their growth.
We are on Chapter 24 in our Religion Books, “We Celebrate Jesus’ Gift of Himself”.
Please remember that Friday is 12:00 dismissal. Please bring a snack, but not lunch.
