Happy Friday!
This past week, we started our music in movies unit. We have been watching and listening to various movie clips and their soundtracks or scores. We have studied the difference between a soundtrack and score, as well as taking a closer look at 3 film composers.
The assignment for the paper is posted under files. The paper is due 11/21. We began watching Beauty and the Beast today in class (Alan Menken), and will watch two other films (one of John Williams and one of a soundtrack nature). The cadets are taking notes on scenes in the movies with music and their influence on the scene and instrumentation.
They will then take the contents of their notes and make it into a paper comparing and contrasting all 3 films we view during class.

Hi all!! TIME CHANGE FOR SUNDAY 11/9! Pick up @ Wilmington and Western Railroad is @ 2pm, NOT 2:45pm, please mark that down somewhere!!! You still need to be there by 11am (10:45am is what you should aim for) for rehearsal. For parents that want to attend, ceremony begins at 11:30, train is leaving the station at 12:30! PICK UP AT 2PM - wear Peanut Butters, RFJ (if we are outside), and covers.
For tomorrow (Saturday), meet at BAND TRAILER @ Baynard Stadium by 1pm (12:45 is what you should aim for) wearing orange or dma spirit wear on top, jeans of any color, or khakis on bottom, no sweatpants or yoga pants or leggings!! Game is @ 2pm, BBQ at dma following the game - game will probably be over around 4pm for pick up, you do NOT have to stay the whole time. Seniors, don't forget to bring your uniforms if you are being recognized!!

Hello parents and cadets!
Just wanted to give you an update of what is going on in the world of DMA Concert Choir.
This Friday, during first block, your cadets will be singing at the Veterans Breakfast at DMA.
Saturday: Senior Recognition Football Game @ Baynard Stadium 1pm is report time. WE ARE MEETING AT THE BAND TRAILER... when you go into Baynard, you get to a point where you can go right or left, go LEFT, and you should see the band trailer.... that is where our meeting spot is!
Cadets should be in DMA Spirit Wear with Jeans (blue or black) or Khakis on the bottom. No rips in pants!!! And comfortable shoes..we'll be walking all over. SENIORS NEED TO BE IN UNIFORM TO BE RECOGNIZED AT HALF TIME...so Seniors, if you want to bring your uniform to change into before half time, that's fine, but you need to be in uniform when you're being recognized!
Cadets do not have to stay the entire game if they do not want to, but it would be nice to stay until at least half time to see their fellow choir members be recognized. Cadets are responsible for a ride to and from the game. The game starts at 2, so it will probably be over between 4-4:30pm. The marching band is playing post-show.
Sunday: We need to be at the Wilmington and Western Railroad by 11am for a rehearsal. I will be there at 10:30am to set up the keyboard, so if you're someone who runs late often, plan to be there at 10:45am!! Pick up at 2:45pm. Uniform is peanut butters with ribbons AND covers. (Thursday dress). Cadets may bring their RFJ depending on the weather that day, I think we will be performing outside for the ceremony.

Along with studying for your Test 2 on Thursday 10/30, make sure you are working on your midterm project!! It will be due to me THIS FRIDAY 10/31 if you don't want to come in during the time of the midterm!
