1. Archaeologist- Scientists who study what is left behind by ancient peoples
2. geologist- Scientist who study the origin, history, and structure of the Earth.
3. nomad- wander
4. culture- beliefs, customs, and civilizations of a particular people or group.

6. artifact- anything altered or used by humans and left behind.
7. atlatl- a simple shaft or handle with weights used to throw spears or darts with more force.
Paleo Culture:
Paleo means "very old" They lived between 20,000 BC and 10,000 BC (although some scientist say they may still have lived here around 5,000BC)
One of the few artifacts of these prehistoric people is the spear point call the clovis point, used to kill a large animal.
Making spear poins is known as flint knapping.
When the large animals died out about 10,000 years ago hunters adjusted and began to make a finer spear point the Folsom point.
