Answer: Potomac Section

Answer: Morgan, Jefferson, Berkley, Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral, Grant, Pendleton

3. What two fruit crops are grown in this area?
Answer: Apples and peaches

4. What two state parks are located in the Potomac section?
Answer: Cacapon, Berkley Springs

5. What are two colleges located in the Potomac section?
Answer: Shepherd College in Shepherd's Town. And Potomac State College at Keyser

6. What is the name of the sight seeing train that travels along the Potomac River (The Trough) where tourist can see American Bald Eagles.
Answer: The Potomac Eagle

Quiz Monday September 10, 2012

Natural Wonders of West Virgnia

1. West Virginia's largest commercial underground cave is Seneca Caverns and is located in Pedleton County.

2. Pinnacle Rock is located in Mercer County, and looks like the ruins of a medieval castle.

3. Located in Hardy and Hampshire Counties is a rock cliff formation along the Potomac River called The Trough.

4. Ice Mountain is located in Hampshire County and is a cold producing slope.

5. Organ Cave was discovered in 1704 and is located in Greeenbrier County.

6. The highest waterfall in West Virginia is Blackwater Falls and is located in Tucker County.

7. Smoke Hole Caverns is located in Grant County and was opend to the public in 1942.

8. The Falls on Hills Creek is located in Greenbrier County is the second highest waterfall in West Virginia.

9. Located in Pendleton County, you will find Seneca Rocks which is 1,000 feet hight.

10. In Fayette County, Hawk's Nest was originally called Marshall's Pillar.

11. Lost World Caverns was discovered in 1942 and is also located in Greenbrier County.

Good Luck to the Jr. High Football team tonight as they play their first game of the season here at Wildcat Field.

Eigth Grade We will have a quiz tomorrow to make sure everyone knows the five themes of Geography!
