MIDTERM ASSIGNMENT!!!

For your piano midterm, you will be completing a project (self-composition in class) and a music theory exam! Both of these performances/exam are schedule on the Tuesday before your scheduled midterm time (March 15, 2016). 

 

The midterm exam project portion will be handed out in class paper copy, however, it is also available on my website for you to view! You can find it under Piano, Assignments. There is a button on my home page that says piano midterm, so you can also just click that to view the PDF of the assignment!

Good morning!!
 
I wanted to inform all of you of the midterm assignment/scene writing workshop we will be beginning today in class. For the midterm assignment, we will be writing our own original "one-act play" in class, and the cadets will perform it. This is a 2-part assignment for the midterm, and each cadet must complete EACH part to receive their passing grade. 
 
We will begin writing our scenes tomorrow (Wednesday 3/2) in class. In the case that your cadet is absent during the writing portion of the scene or the peer editing portion (Thursday or Friday), they are STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING THEIR SCENE TO ME OVER THE WEEKEND VIA GOOGLE DOCS by SUNDAY 8pm! Feel free to submit it via google docs sooner than Sunday. My e-mail to share the google doc is [email protected] (they know this from a previous assignment).
 
I will explain the entire project to them in class thoroughly, but if you or your cadet are confused if they are absent, please do not hesitate to e-mail me or call the school. It is CRUCIAL that I have all scenes by Sunday @ 8pm because on Monday, we will be grouping the scenes into the one-act plays, and no one's scene can be left out as part of the midterm. 
 
The assignment (in PDF powerpoint form and as a PDF outline) can be found on my school website. mskelmanmusic.weebly.com under the Theater Arts tab, Assignments. This can be found by going to the top left tap (blue lines) on my website. 
 
Again, please make sure that if you are absent during the week, you know you still owe your scene to me by Sunday 8pm via google docs sharing for your midterm grade part 1!
