We have our regularly scheduled reading, grammar, and vocabulary tests this Friday. Please complete the reading log each night, remember students can complete an Achieve article and count it in their reading log. We will have a test on Friday over the Native American tribes. Please check your child's folder and ClassDojo for the study guide. There is also a large social studies project going home today. Your child is expected to create a diorama about a Native American tribe and write a paragraph about that tribe. These projects are due December 17th. Check ClassDojo and your child's folder for the project information. Remember our Holiday Program is tomorrow night at Christ Community Church. Students need to be there at 5:45, the program starts at 6:30.
I hope you had a safe and restful break. We have a lot going on in the upcoming weeks, so please be sure to check ClassDojo for daily updates. We will be testing for quarterly benchmarks and other assessments over the next few weeks in all subjects. Due to this testing, it will postpone some of our regular weekly tests. We will have reading, grammar, and vocabulary tests this Friday. Please study every night with your child and have them complete the reading log for 20 minutes each night. Remember, Achieve 3000 articles can be used for the reading log. I will let you know about upcoming holiday celebrations as we schedule them. Let me know if you have any questions!
We are back to a regular schedule in Reading/ELA this week. There will be a vocabulary, grammar, and reading test this Friday. We are learning about soil, erosion, and weathering in science. The test will be next Friday. Please join us this Thursday for Thanksgiving lunch. We eat at 12:05. Thursday night is our Math Night at Winn-Dixie on Macon Road from 5:30-7:00. There is no school next Monday, Nov. 12th. On Tuesday, Nov. 13th we will have student-led conferences from 5:30-7:00.
There will be no reading, vocabulary, or grammar tests this week because it is a review week and we will be doing a writing unit. Please fill out the reading log each night, remember your child can do Achieve 3000 from home and use this on their reading log. Completed reading logs are worth ten extra credit points in reading. We will have our test over the English, Spanish, and French explorers in Social Studies this Friday. Please study the study guide sent home last week. Wednesday is Halloween and is our Book Character Parade at 1:00. Students are allowed to dress up, but must bring the book their character is from to participate. Please check ClassDojo daily for updates.
We are beginning a new unit on European explorers this week in Social Studies. We will go to the rock quarry for a field trip on Wednesday. Don't forget Pumpkin Book Reports and reading logs are due this Friday. Please read with your child or practice Achieve 3000 every night. Regular vocabulary, grammar and reading tests will be this Friday. This week is Red Ribbon Week.
