Parents - This week we will have our regular vocabulary, grammar, and weekly reading tests on Friday, Nov. 17th. We will also have our final test over rocks on Friday, Nov. 17th. Please go over the study guides and practice multiplication facts each night. Remember to fill out a reading log each day and have your child complete 2 Achieve articles at home if they did not pass the reading test last week. You can message me on DOJO for your child's scores. There are no new events this week, other than a SPED (Special Education students only) Dessert night on Thursday at 6 pm. Next week students will be out for Thanksgiving Break. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Pumpkin Book Reports are due Monday, Nov. 5th.
We will be doing Unit 3 Week 1 this week in Reading Wonders. There will be a grammar, vocabulary, and reading test on Thursday, Nov. 9th.
We are continuing to learn about rocks and minerals in science. There will be a comprehensive test next Friday, Nov. 16th.
Progress Reports go home Wednesday, Nov. 8th. Please sign and return.
There will be a breakfast to honor Veteran's on Thursday, Nov. 9th, and we will also have our Thanksgiving lunch that day.
If you would like to send in any donations for the Samaritan's Box, we would be appreciative.

Parents - There will be no vocabulary words this week. It is our sixth week in Unit 2, and therefore it is a review week. We will be doing an extensive expository writing unit this week and will not have any weekly tests in reading or ELA. I will be sending home a pumpkin book report this week. If you are unable to get a pumpkin to decorate, please let me know as soon as possible so I can purchase one for you. We will begin studying rocks and minerals this week in science. Please go over the study guide with your child.

Picture retakes will be on Monday, October 30th.
Book Character Parade will be on Tuesday, October 31st at 1:45. Students must have their books to dress up and participate.
Students can pay $5 to dress out of uniform on Friday, November 3rd for United Way.
Please send in donations for our Samaritans Purse Christmas Child Shoebox.

Parents - Please sure to sign up for Class Dojo if you have not already done so. Ms. Herring and I send messages regularly about school events and classroom news. Tomorrow will finish up Red Ribbon Week with Super Hero day. Your child may dress up, wear t-shirts, or hats to represent their favorite super hero. We will also participate in the monthly PBIS celebration with a dance tomorrow for students who have earned enough Road Runner Bucks. On Tuesday, October 31st, students are allowed to dress up as their favorite book character for a parade. Please make sure your child brings the book with them to dress up and participate. Please check your child's folder each day for any letters, reading logs, multiplication logs, and classwork.

 Please look at your child's folders every night. Progress reports go home Wednesday, September 6. Be sure to review your child's classwork and return any failing papers signed as well as the progress report. If you have not already done so, please contact me for a parent conference. Don't forget to send in cases of water to help those recovering from Hurricane Harvey!
