Week of Sept. 15- 19

This week 6th grade is reviewing standards for Unit 1 (Number Fluency) for Unit 1 Common Unit Assessment. Unit 1 Common Unit Assessment will be given on Friday, September 19th. Within this unit we have studied Multiplication and Division of whole numbers and decimals, Finding GCF(Greatest Common Factor), LCM (Least Common Multiple), Distributive Property, and Division of fractions, whole/mixed numbers. Students were given a study guide to study and practice on problems from this unit for the assessment.

8th grade is studying identifying similar triangles through proportions. Unit 1 Common Unit Assessment will be given Tuesday, September 23rd. Students will be given a study guide to practice problems from this unit for the assessment.

There will be a tutorial session this Thursday, September 18th for students are having difficulty on skills taught in Unit 1 from 4:00 to 5:00. Please be on time to pick up your child, due to other obligations that I have after 5.

Week of Sept. 8 - 12

Hello Parents and Students,

In 6th grade, students are learning to divide fractions,mixed numbers, and whole numbers. We have a Common Unit Assessment on Unit 1 in the next week or so. Please ensure that your child is reviewing Cornell notes from class to prepare for the test.  Tutoring will officially start next Thursday. My tutorial day will be on every Tuesday of each week, unless otherwise instructed. Due to other obligations, I will tutor on Thursday, September 18th.

In 8th grade we are still studying Transformations. This week we are studying Rotation. Students will practice and review Unit 1 as well  for Common Unit Assessment. Please make sure your child is studying. These Common Unit Assessment show growth of what was learned since Unit 1 learning preparation begin.

6th grade homework:

Tuesday: Problem Solving on dividing fractions, mixed and whole numbers.

Wednesday: Dividing fractions, whole and mixed numbers

Week of Sept. 2-5

This week 6th grade is working on LCM (leat Common Denominator and Division of fractions, whole/mixed numbers. Students will be quizzed on LCM and divsion of fractions this week, so please make sure they are studying as well as completing homework assignments. Homework is given everynight except for Fridays, when there is a full week of school. 8th Grade is still studying Transformations. This week we are beginning on Reflections, using graph paper.

Week of August 25-29

Hello Parents and Students,

This week 6th grade is reveiwing division of decimals and finding the GCF (Greatest Common Factor and LCM (Least Common Multiple). We will complete a performance task on Greatest Common Factor.

In 8th Grade, we are studying Transformations ( Dilations,Translations, Reflections, and Rotations). Students need graph paper to complete this four different Transformations.

Week of August 18 - 22

Hello Parents and Students,

We heading off to a GREAT start this school year. I looking forward to working with your child this year. I feel we are going to have an awesome year. There will be lots of exciting and engaging lessons throughout this school year. This week we began on Unit 1. For 6th grade we began multiplying and dividing whole numbers and decimals. Unit 1 for 8th grade is Transformations, Congruence, and Similarity. We began completing Unit 1 Common Unit Assessment pretest on tomorrow.
