This week we will begin finding area of quadrilaterals, rectangles, triangles, and trapezoids. It is imperative that students learn the key terminology for this unit. The lesson will be easier to grasp and understand if the students know the terminology. Tutoring and academic study hall will be this Tuesday from 4:05 - 5:00.

Week of Jan. 7 - 10
Welcome Back and happy New year!!!!! This week will begin Unit 5: Geometry: Area and Volume. It is imperative that students learn the key terminology for this unit. In familiarizing themselves with the terminology, it will help them retain better understannding of the concepts will be taught. The students will be given a copy of vocabulary today. A vocabulary quiz will be given in a week. Tutoring is cancelled this week, due to bad weather conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by email or phone.

Tuesday: None
Wednesday: Create a figure using some the vocabulary wordsfrom your list. Use at least seven words.
Thursday: Use your tangrams to make the whole square.
Friday: Finish finding the area of tangram pieces.

In Social Studies will begin Unit 5: Australia. We will be studying the geographic features and cultural development of Australia. It is important that the students learn the key vocabulary for the unit. It will help the class discussion flow smoothly.

This week we are wrapping up Unit 4 (Solving equations and Inequalities). We are graphing and inequalities and tables and functions. Some students are having great difficulty with this unit. If your child is struggling with this unit, please allow them to stay for tutoring. Tutoring will be held this Tuesday from 4:05 to 5:00. We will begin Unit 4 CUA's on Monday, December 16, 2013.
