Hi Parents and Students,

Thank you all for the hard work in ensuring that your research paper was turned in. Those who have not done so will be losing 5 points daily.

The next piece is the final project that is due 10/20/14!!!!!!!!!!!!!yeahhh

After school tutoring will now be held on Tuesdays ONLY due to a recent change in my son's schedule and also the fact that I will be running the Forensic club too.

Please also check with the other teachers on our team as they may be sponsoring other after school activities and thus will alter their availability for after school tutoring,

We will be working on calculating velocity and speed this coming week.

Keep up the great work!

Mr. Fuamenya

Hi Students and parents!

We have gotten off to a great start! Students will be doing research on their research topic(bibliography body of paper, material list) hypothesis, variables, procedure, and material lists. This was due on Monday 15th.

However I am being flexible with this date to accommodate students who got their questions late for several reasons.

The above due date has been extended to Friday 19, 2014. The is no school for students but some students may still use the opportunity to send it electronically.

Note! THE FINAL DUE DATE FOR THE ENTIRE PROJECT OF 10/20/14 WILL STAY!!

Keep the hard work!

Hi All,

We are already in the 3rd week of school !The highlight of this week is interactive notebooks plus I will get the chance to see the parents on back to school night.

One thing that has become apparent is students' work ethic. I hope parents will help and encourage their children to complete and turn in home work when assigned on time.

Students who have not completely set up their interactive notebook by Tuesday 9/9 will have to stay after school and complete it on Thursday 9/11.

We are currently working on the Scientific inquiry and we will identifying dependent vs independent variables in experiments.

You should also be work on the next due piece of the science fair:

Research paper with title page, acknowledge, body of paper, and bibliography

See you Wednesday 9/10 at BTSN

Keep the hard work going!

Mr. Fuamenya

Hi Parents and Students,

Welcome to the new school year 2014-2015!!

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back to another exciting school year. As with the rest of our team, my goal is to inspire our students to be inquisitive about the world around them, to think like scientists and to investigate in order to find the answers to their questions.

As we started in the first week all students are required to have a spiral notebook because we keep an interactive note book. The interactive note book will have their class work, notes, quizzes,labs..., project instructions...

This will be an excellent place for students locate materials and study for tests. If they lose their notebooks, they will have to be required to obtain a new notebook and make arrangements to come in and redo their notebook.

The following Grading scale will be used as adopted the PGCPS board of education.

-Tests, quizzes, projects, major labs.......45%

-Classwork and mini labs........................40%

-Home work...............................................15%

EXTRA CREDIT

Extra credit will be given and will be announced. However all test review questions will consttute extra credit if students complete and turn them in before or on the day of the test.

Our science textbooks consists of several books. Books will not be checked out to students because they can be accessed online. However, if you do not have access to the internet one will be issued to your child to be left at home. A letter must be provided by the parent before a textbook is issued the codes for the books are as follows:

7th grade

The Nature of Science and Technology cae 0627

Motion Forces and Energy cae 0624

Human Biology and Health cae 0616

Bacteria to plants cae 0612

Earth's Changing Surface cae 0618

Chemical Building Blocks cae 0622
