Dear Parents,

I would like to welcome you all to PreK-1. I am looking forward to spending the

school year 2017-2018 teaching your child the skills they will need to carry them to

Kindergarten. Working together with the parents is a great step in helping your child

grow socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. To help your child transition, I

am asking for your help.

I will ask you to please send in a small crib sheet and small blanket. This will

be used during their nap time. Please label with your child's name on it. In addition, a

change of clothes will be needed in the event that your child has an accident. Please

place them in a bag that is labeled with their name and class. Clothing such as

sweaters, scarves, jackets, hats, lunch boxes and book bags should also be labeled.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at

[email protected] or 718-882-2203 ext. 23.

Sincerely,

Ms. Torres
PreK-1

Dear Parents,

As we near the completion of our Tree unit, students have

learned to recognize differences between living and non living things,

needs of living things, mathematical concepts, and sight words as well as

vocabulary words. I encourage you to continue to work with them at home

on letter recognition, letter formation, letter sounds, name recognition,

shapes, numbers, differentiating living and non living things. We hope

that this study has broadened your child's interest in nature and learn to

explore it.

Sincerely,
