Hello parents,
This week in math class students will use brain dumps to learn about systems of equations. The students are using guided notes to help them understand concepts and to review the basic skills. This week tutoring is on Tuesday Jan. 22, 2019. The student took the QBA and the students work is a reflection of the extra work they have or have not done. Please encourage your child to use the resources. Students need to try their very best because grades will be taken from the class.
Review of the rituals and routines. Students are to complete assignments on time and will be responsible for exit slips called T.O.T.D. The students will need pages 33 and 34 completed in their Go Math work Text. Students will participate in a school wide writing Wednesday. Tutoring will start back next week on Wednesday and after that Tuesday is the regular day.
This week the student will take the math QBA 2. The students are learning how to determine the solutions for equations with variables on both side. This week the students can stay after school on Wednesday for additional help. Student have USA Test Modules to help them prepare along with GO Math and IXL. Students should come to school prepared with materials and their GO Math work text.
Hello parents and students this week in math class the students are working on the slope formula and have to complete a Christmas Ornament Puzzle as a group of four. Although the students are working as a group their individual work is graded according to their independent work. Parents please discuss with your students the importance of following directions and doing their part as a math students in the 8th grade. Tutoring is available on Tuesday of this week from 4:05-4:50 pm. Students who have not completed their USA Test Prep Please know that they have had four weeks to complete and will receive a grade of missing if it is not done after this week on Friday. Students also are responsible for IXL and GO Math assignments. IXL Z1. Z2. and Go Math assignments on their dashboard. Thank you
Hello parents and student of the Best Middle School in the World. This week we are learning to write linear equations using y=mx+b. The students are graphing and using tables to determine the slope and the y-intercept of the equation. Students should have their modules for G.6, G7, G8. and G9 completed along with Weekly Assessments and GO Math and IXL assignments. I hold after school on Tuesday of this week from 4:05- 4:50 pm.
