Hello parents and students,
This week the students are working on systems of equations using the algebraic method for solving equations. The students are working on a substitution memory game. The students are working in partner groups. The projects counts for a test which means that it counts twice. The reminder of the week will focus on scatter plots, line of best fits, and two column tables. QBA are held during the Week of March 13-15, 2019
After school tutoring is held on Tuesday March 5, 2019 from 4:05-5:05. Parents student should be working on USA Test Prep, IXL, and Go Math independently to prepare for GMAS.
Hello Parents and Students,
This week the students are reviewing writing linear equations and tables. Students will learn on Tuesday and Wednesday how to solve systems of equations algebraically and to determine their solutions. On Thursday and Friday of this week the students will begin the the mini unit on scatter plots, lines of best fit, and two column tables. Students have been given a after school slip for Wednesday 2/27/19. In order for students to stay I must have at least 10 students and the form must be turned in on Tuesday of this week. Students are encouraged to come to school and to take home their ISN to help them prepare for GMAS. What I have noticed is that students are not studying for GMAS yet so it seems, I when I ask review questions in class. Students should also be completing modules on USA Test Prep. QBA 3 will be March 13-15, 2019.

This week tutoring is on Wednesday. In class we are reviewing Standard Form and Slope y-intercept form and writing linear equations. Please have your student to start studying for the GMAS. I would suggest that they review and not wait until the last moment. Students need to be proficient in their scores. It is important that students understand the language of the standards and prepare for this state exam. Students can use USA Test Prep, IXL, and GO Math to review as well. Hello parents and students this is week the students will participate in review games for systems of equations. Math Feud will be used in the class to get the students engaged and involved with what is expected of them when they have solution for systems of linear equations. Parents if your child needs additional help pleas have them talk to me about staying after school for tutoring. I normally stay one day a week. Planning period tutoring will be on Thursday. Planning period, after school and Saturday school are all available and students should be taking advantage of the school wide safety nets. It is very unlikely that your child can be as successful as they need to in 8th grade math which is a need foundation for high school math. If and when students do not put forth the necessary effort to become proficient. Parents please be made aware that students should be doing USA Test Prep and IXL and or using GO Math resources to prepare for their homework as much as possible before GMAS. Students who were beginning or developing really need to get any additional help that they are being offered whether that is through the school or private tutors. Thank you so much and we are striving for 525 and higher.
Hello parents and students this week we are learning about system of equations. Students are getting test ready using multiple choice questions with the standards in class. Students need to start studying for GMAS so they will be ready in April. The students are learning to solve them using two algebra method. Elimination and Substitution method. Students should know how to solve two step equations for 7th grade and be familiar with their integer rules in order to be successful. After school will be Tuesday of this week. Students should be using USA Test Prep, IXL, and Go Math to prepare for GMAS using the questions to get immediate feedback at random depth of Knowledge levels. Thank you .
