Week of October 8-12, 2018

Hello Parents and Students of the Best Middle School in the World.  There is not school Monday for the students it is a Teacher Work Day.  On Tuesday the students will pre- register for the PSAT for grade 8.  The students will take the PSAT for grade 8 on Tuesday.  Students will have their Weekly Reader Guide and the Log in forms for Math this week.  Parents please ask your child about this on a weekly basis and you should be aware of the assignment and sign that your child is completing the assignments for each subject that they take. Math will always be the second week.  Thank you.  The students will go to the Computer Lab on Thursday of this week and work on USA Test Prep Modules.  The students will have a Go Math ! assignment to complete Thursday , Friday, Monday, and Tuesday and Wednesday into next week.

This week on Friday the students will understand similar triangles in Real World Context which increases the rigor and the students comprehension is very important in these problems. 

  QBA 1 for transformation is October 17.  The students will also have to complete a Constructed Response Question with 2 parts according to the scoring rubric.   Tutoring will be Tuesday October 9,.  If you need a conference please contact me at 569-3740 in order to have one scheduled.  Thank you and have a great week.

Hello parents and students ,

This week we will finish learning about triangles and their measure.  Students are writing equations and finding the missing measure.  The student were assigned homework this pass weekend in USA Test Prep. The student should complete module G3. and then the module for G.5.  I am not having math tutoring this week due to a district meeting that will be held on Tuesday.  If I can arrange to have a session within my planning period then I will. Otherwise it will resume next week. QBA 1 Transformation Unit District Benchmark Assessment will be on October 17, 2018.  Student need to be preparing for this assessment and will need to make a 70 and high to be considered progressing towards proficient.  Thank you for all that you do.  Please contact me if you need to schedule a parent teacher conference at 706-569-3740.   My planning time is 3:05- 3:50 pm daily. Parents and students this week in math class we are studying transformation that are translations and reflections in unit 1. The standards are GSE8.G1 and GSE8.G3. Students will investigate congruence,learn how to apply the rule, and identify translations and reflections using precise. After school tutoring is Tuesday of each week. The first session is August 14. Your child must return the slip to stay. Thank you.

This week in math class. The lessons will be on on functions and relations. Students are expected to learn how to analyze how to and to synthesize, so that they can evaluate and judge relations that could be or could not be a function.  School-wide school-wide safety nets and Saturday school will start this weekend. Tutoring is on Tuesday from to 4 pm to 5 pm. Students should be completing USA Test prep for homework practice. Thanks for all you do.

Hello parents and students of the Best Middle School in the World. This week we will observe Martin Luther King Holiday on Monday. This week we are off to studying Relations and Functions. Remember this is the largest conceptual domain for the GMAS math assessment in the spring. Students I hold after school on Tuesday of each week. This weekend is the first Saturday School session. Please continue to work in USA Test Prep this is your weekly homework. Parents when your students stay after school they must have written permission.
