Today our dramatic play area was turned into a Post Office. The children can go in there and write cards, address envelopes, stamp and put letters in the mailbox. We read a book called What is My Job? which talked about different jobs people have in our community. We colored and cut out our own Letter Carrier hat to wear in the Post Office.
We had Spanish Class today, and Miss Vivi taught us some words that begin with the Letter Oo.
We also had a fire drill today. The children did a good job lining up quietly and exiting the building in a safe manner.

Today we read My Rr Book and did our letter Rr practice paper. We also did a Bee craft for our bulletin board and had red puffy paint out at the Easel.
We had Chapel today and Miss Rebecca read us a story about the Transfiguration of Jesus. We heard how Jesus changed in front of his friends as God called out and told them that this was His Son.
We also had fun playing with Math Bins, doing a bear counting game, and learning a new song about 5 Bears.

Today we read a book called Who Will See Their Shadows This Year? We went outside in the prayer garden and found our own shadows. We had a good time running around moving our arms and legs while watching our shadows move. We also had fun touching the snow and finding signs of Spring.
At tables we did a weekly reader together and also had a taste test. We tasted different teddy grahams then graphed which ones we liked.
On Friday, Feb. 12, we will be having our Valentine's celebration. Children who do not normally attend school on Fridays are invited to attend that day. I have a sign-up sheet for items needed on the table outside the classroom. Children are welcome to exchange Valentine cards on that day. I will send home a class list so they can address their Valentines.
Also, the Mr. Bear Puppet Show is rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 23. All MWF children don't forget to come that day!

Today we read a book called Wake Up Mr. Groundhog. We did a groundhog craft using paper cups, green paint, crayons, scissors and glue. We discussed that groundhog's day is tomorrow, and if the groundhog sees his shadow, we will have 6 more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see his shadow, we will have an early Spring. We also did a felt board story about 5 little groundhogs. We worked on puzzles, had quiet book time, and then Center time with blocks, legos, and also playing in the kitchen area. We were excited to have a new month at calendar time!

Today we read My Bb Book and did our Letter Bb practice paper. We finished our Bear Hibernating craft. We also did a Bb Coloring paper and cut out words to match the pictures. We played with Math Bins and had all the other Centers open.
We had fun singing the hibernation song we have been learning this week.
