Today we read a book called The Story of George Washington.  We discussed why we were off yesterday for President's Day.  We then colored, cut and glued together a picture of George Washington.  We heard in the story that George was a very honest man.  When he was little he cut down his father's cherry tree.  But he told the truth to his father about what he had done, saying "He cannot tell a lie".   For another table activity, we painted a picture of a cherry tree.

We had gym class today with Miss Maddy.  We practiced skipping, throwing, and various other gross motor activities.

Have a great day!

Miss Patty

Today we read a book called What is Easter.  We discussed at group time that today is the beginning of Lent in our Church and that we are preparing for Easter.  Mr. Mike and Pastor Gregg also discussed Lent with us in Chapel.  We saw a funny puppet show in Chapel with a penguin and a squirrell in it!  We also sang songs and read a Bible story about Jesus being in the desert for 40 days.   At tables we decorated a Cross by using glue and tissue paper pieces to make it colorful.  We also did our Letter Vv practice paper.
Have a great day!
Miss Patty

This week our Theme is Valentine's and the Letter Vv.
Today we read a book called Clifford's Valentine. At the tables we our decorated our Valentine's bags and did a heart-lacing activity. We also did some math patterns with candy hearts. We learned a new poem today about different colored hearts, and we also practiced reading the poster the poem was written on.
We had outdoor recess today on the playground!
Have a great day,
Miss Patty
p.s. Open house is tonight at 6pm. If you know anyone looking for preschools, please send them our way to check St. Paul's out!
Thanks!

Good Morning!

Yesterday in class we made Groundhog pudding. We did this by crumbling up graham crackers to look like dirt on top of a chocolate pudding cup. We then made a groundhog face using chocolate chips, icing and a oval wafer cookie. We put the groundhog in the dirt then enjoyed a tasty morning snack!

The children had fun playing tag and enjoying fresh air out back in the prayer garden.

Yesterday I sent home a class list for Valentine's cards. If you were not in school yesterday, here is the list in case you wanted to do the cards over the weekend:

Aarushi
Bridget
Jaxson
Dominic
Elena
Siyoma
Abigail
Ashrith
Kendrick
Calvin
Jiya
Chris
Claire
Rhys
Saanvi
Jhurell

Have a great weekend!

Miss Patty :)
