We were excited to see that our caterpillars have arrived. Today at group time we discussed the life cycle of a caterpillar. We did Observation #1 in our Caterpillar Observation Booklet. We used a magnifying glass and drew a picture of what the caterpillars look like to us in their habitat.

We did a Very Hungry Caterpillar taste test. After telling some of the foods we remembered the caterpillar eating in the book yesterday, we sampled some of those foods. We re-read the story as we did our taste test.

We also did a number and letter butterfly matching game.

We had gym class and had fun doing the limbo!

Have a good day!

For the next two weeks our theme will be caterpillars and butterflies. We are expecting our shipment of caterpillars in any day now! We will be watching and observing the life cycle of a caterpillar.

Today we read a book called The Very Hungry Caterpillar. At tables we cut out a leaf and then we were given some play dough to form our own caterpillar.

We had outside recess today.

Breakfast with Dads or other Special Persons will be on Wednesday at 8:15 AM.

Have a good day!

Today we made traffic light cookies. We turned vanilla icing red, yellow, and green by adding food coloring and stirring. After we spread a different color on each cookie, we arranged them to look like a traffic light. Then we enjoyed eating them! We also did a transportation picture where we drew an outside picture and added foam shaped pieces. At group time we read a book called Curious George at the Train Station.  We also practiced reading the Here We Go Poem.

We had music class today. We got to make our own musical egg by putting corn in a plastic egg and decorating it with stickers. We sang songs and got to shake our musical egg to the music.

Enjoy the weekend!

Today we had a car wash set up with water, soap and sponges. We also had water play with various boats in our sensory table. We played with trucks in the sand and also set up the train table to look like a real train station. At group time we read a book called From Here To There.

In Spanish Class today, Miss Vivi taught us how to say some zoo animals in Spanish.  She  showed us a video of Animals singing songs in Spanish.  We also colored zoo animal pictures.

Some of the children played a roll and write game where they roll a dice with letters on it and then write down the letter the dice shows.

Have a nice day!

Today we read a book called Wheels. We did a transportation sorting activity where the children picked a picture of one form a transportation and decided if it was land, sea or air. We also did a number-shape train activity where the children put the numbers 1-15 in the correct order.

We had Chapel today. We sang songs about the Risen Jesus.  Pastor Linda read us a bible story about Saul who didn't like Christians. We also sang an interactive "rap" song about Saul.

Have a great night!
