Today at Circle time we read a book called Fish, Fish, Fish. We also did an upper/lower case letter matching game. At tables we practiced writing ocean words. We also had the sand/water table open, play dough, sea shells with magnifying glasses, and sticker fun with fish shapes.
We sang interactive songs in Chapel with Mr. Mike and Pastor Linda. We also practiced our songs for graduation.
In the afternoon we did music and movement activities such as freeze dance, and animals in action.

This week our theme is "Under the Sea". Yesterday we read a book called There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Shell. We did an art activity painting with various shaped seashells to make shell prints. We also did a writing activity and practiced our graduation songs.
Today we read a book called Rainbow Fish. We made wave bottles using a funnel, baby oil, water, and blue food coloring. We added sequins to our bottle to be the glittery fish like the ones in the story. We have a large sand table in our room filled with various sand toys as well as plastic letters for the children to find and identify. We had gym class today and outdoor play. We have been busy finishing up our end of the year work!
Here are some reminders for next week:
-Monday, May 30 we are off for Memorial Day
-Tues. May 31 is Family Fun Night beginning at 5:30
-Thurs. June 2 is Field Day. Please send your child in with a beach towel.
-Friday June 3 is the last day of school :( :) We will be having a summer birthday celebration with a special snack.
-Monday June 6 is Graduation at 6pm in the Chapel.
If you haven't sent back your graduation form, please do so.

Today we read a book about Shapes, and read some poems about shapes. We also created our own shape art picture by using foam pieces and glue stick.
In Chapel today we learned about the Holy Trinity, The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Pastor Linda and Mr. Mike taught us a song about the Trinity using sign language.
Today we celebrated Jaxson's birthday, Happy Birthday Jaxson! Thank you for bringing in the delicious cake!

Today we read a book called Cat Counts. We played a number game where the children took turns picking a number out from a bag and telling what it was. We have also been busy catching up on missing letter papers.
We had gym class today. The children played Musical Chairs and did an obstacle course with tunnels, jump ropes, bean bags hula hoops, and scooters. They also played a game called Red Light, Green Light.
This Thursday is Show and Tell. Your child may bring something in from home that they are able to talk about.

This week we are reviewing letters, numbers, and shapes.
Today we read a book called Dr. Seuss ABCs as well as Chicka Chika Boom Boom.
We are working on doing letter make-up papers for their end-of-year letter book. We also practiced writing numbers one to twenty.
Reminder: We don't have school Friday. We are off for parent/teacher conferences. If you haven't signed up for a conference yet, please do so or let me know if you cannot make it on Friday.
