We had music class today. Miss Liz sang a song with us called flowers, stem, roots, and leaves. We had fun doing the actions to that song.
During Circle Time we read a book about the stars in the sky and the big/little dipper. At Center time, we decorated our traced hands to hang on the bulletin board outside, We played with mega blocks, did puzzles, and played in the kitchen. We also had star stencils out with black paper and white chalk.
I hope to see everyone tonight for our Spring concert. Please have your child back to the classroom at 6pm.
Today we read a story called The Sun and the Moon. The children were given a picture of the sun outlined in dots with a piece of yellow paper under it. On the carpet, they used a push pin to poke holes in the outlined sun. They did a great job with this fine motor activity! We hung the sunshines up on our window to help our classroom shine brighter!
We had Spanish Class today. Ms. Vivi did a number/coloring activity with the children. We also had practice in the Chapel for our Spring concert tommorrow night. The children have been practicing hard. I hope they can all attend the concert tommorrow night.
We enjoyed outside recess this morning.

Today we read a book called Moons. We learned that some planets, such as Jupiter, have more than 60 moons. The planet earth has only 1 moon. For an art project today we mixed glitter into yellow and white paint and used moon-shaped and star-shaped sponges to paint a cool picture. We also made a half-moon using tinfoil to hang in our classroom.
We had Chapel today. We celebrated the birthday of the Church. Christians call this Pentecost Sunday. We celebrate the Holy Spirit coming into our lives. We sang a fun song about having Spirit while waving colorful ribbons. Thank you to Pastor and Mr. Mike for letting us keep the ribbons!
Also thank you to Ashrith's family for providing a yummy pizza/cake lunch today. Happy Birthday Ashrith!
The conference sign-up sheet is on the table outside the classroom. Conferences will be on Friday, May 20.

Today we read a book called Planets in our Solar System. Our table job today was to create our own solar system using play dough and a paper plate. We also had on the tables a dinosaur matching game, spaceship tangrams, moon decorating, and journal writing.
We had gym class today. We made up our own dance moves as we danced to music. We also had relay races with beanbags.
For tommorrow we will be having a special pizza lunch to celebrate Ashrith's birthday. You do not need to pack a lunch for your child tommorrow unless they don't want pizza for lunch.
Also tommorrow there will be a conference sign-up sheet outside our classroom. Conferences will be next Friday, May 20. We do not have school that day. Please sign up for a conference time.

This week our theme is Out in Space. We will be reading books about the Solar System and Astronauts who do work in Space. Today we read a book called City in Space. At tables we did a color, cut, and glue activity with various shapes to make a space scene.
We are practicing for the Spring concert that will be held this Friday, May 13 at 6:30 in the Chapel. Please have your child to the classroom at 6pm. Please encourage your child to sing! You want to hear them not Miss Beth and me!
