We were very suprised this morning when we came in to our classroom to discover there had been a naughty leprechaun in playing in our classroom last night! He left green footprints and a mess on our tables and dumped baskets of toys and stuffed animals! We all helped clean up the mess the leprechaun made!
Today we read a book called 10 Lucky Leprechauns. At tables we colored a leprechaun then cut it out to make a puppet. We painted a pot black and added glitter and a gold coin to make a pot of gold.
We had gym class today. Miss Maddy set up an obstacle course with jumpropes, tunnels, hula hoops, and bean bags.

This week our Theme is St. Patrick's Day and Leprechauns. We are also doing the letter Xx this week.
Today we read a book called Looking For Leprechauns. We found Ireland on the globe and discussed how some Irish traditions came to America when people moved here from Ireland.
At tables today we made a rainbow using colorful strips of paper, cottonballs, and glue. We are hoping a Leprechaun puts some gold under our rainbow! We also did Shamrock rubbings by placing a foam shamrock under paper and rubbing over it with a crayon. We had some live worms in our room today that we examined using a magnifyer.

Friday is show and tell - your child may bring in something from home (not too big) that they would like to show the class and talk about.
Also, if anyone has any X-Rays at home they can send in, please do so! We would love to look at them! We will return them the same day.

Today we read a book called When the Wind Blew. We also did a felt board to that story. We went outside to the prayer garden and drew a picture of what we were seeing outside and what the weather was like.
We had Music class today. Miss Liz taught us how to draw musical notes. We also had fun doing the bumble bee song!
We did a counting activity where the children had to draw the correct amount of rays on the sun. We also had fun playing in the snow we made yesterday.
