STEM DATES:

Writing your research paper -

  • 09 NOV:  Introduction paragraph due (combined work of both students)
  • 15 NOV:  Core Questions 1 & 2 due from EACH student
  • 18 NOV:  Core Question 3 due from EACH student
  • 21 NOV:  Rough Draft Due, including conclusion - all students  (Computer time available during class to printing only)
  • 21-30 NOV:  Work on final drafts with partners/ELA, proof, edit, etc.  
  • 30 NOV:  Computer lab for printing only if needed (only one class period, not typing!)
  • 30 NOV:  Final draft due for all students.

Updates:  Crazy Week!  Don't forget - there is no school Tuesday & Friday!

Monday:  Systems Theory review with Ms. DiGiorgio - page 34, analyze, complete graphic organizer, color the South American rainforest drawing.  Also, answer 8 questions on Natural Selection - how much do you know?   What do we need to review and reinforce?      Time to fix your notebooks!  Everyone had time in class to fix their notebooks, update TOC, etc.   Generally, this should be done at home but we try to use our time wisely whenever possible :).

ONGOING HOMEWORK: 

  • STEM paper introduction should be done no later than Wednesday.
  • Skittles Lab should be done no later than Thursday.

  • Don't forget!  WRITE IT:  New England's Journey - a FULL story!  Due no later than Friday, 04 NOV 16.
  • SKITTLES LAB:  Complete results and conclusion at home - due no later than Thursday, 10 NOV 16 (page 33).
  • From today in class:  NATURAL SELECTION.  Complete your "Doors" on page 35 using your modified notes, readings, and the Crash Course video on Natural Selection.

HOMEWORK:

I'm giving you one more day for SKITTLES.  Don't forget this time!   We want to do the lab activity and I'd like you to enjoy it :)  Happy Halloween!

Today in class:    Looking for species of New England in this wonderful place of seasonal change!  Explore the seasons and how some of the flora and fauna experience (adapt and survive) them.   Finish this at home (rewatch parts if needed).  Take notes on page 32 - don't forget a title and date.  You will have a quiz soon and will be expected to know species of New England.

p.s. don't forget that WRITE IT - New England's Journey is due no later than this coming Friday, 04 NOV 16.
