HW003 Title Page: "Changing New England," page 11. See your rubric and use the ABCD of scientific illustration to complete a fully drawn and colored title page for our first unit. Complete this no later than Friday, 23 SEP 16.

(Brainstorm your ideas first: what do you think of when you think 'New England?" What comes to mind when you hear the word "change?")

See my example.... no judgement!

Thinkers, Honors/Advanced, Curious people: consider watching the history of the world in From the Big Bang to the Present (1.28 in The Beginning playlist on youtube.com). I recommend this or similar to get a good understanding of the "Big Picture."

HW002 Lab Safety Coloring & Story: Should be completed no later than Monday, 19 SEP 16.

Students should color the cartoon, and write a complete story using the template and the paper underneath as necessary. This will go on page 4 as a two page flip. Make sure the bottom page flips, too, so that you can write on the notebook paper as well.

Hello Grade 8 Students and Families!  Welcome back to school!

Friendly reminder:  Have a notebook no later than MONDAY, September 12, 2016.   Middle schoolers city wide are moving to an interactive notebook system.  We will be using spiral notebooks.   3 subject notebooks are ideal as you may need that much paper, but certainly no less than 2 subject as was recommended in June.   We also stongly recommend a spiral notebook with a plastic/vinyl cover.  The cardboard covers don't last long.

We will be setting up and using our Interactive Science Notebooks (ISNs) on Monday.  It is critical that everyone come prepared!

Looking forward to a fun and productive school year!
