Today in class:

1) Wednesday Admit Ticket - do you know what we are doing?  We are working on grade 4/5 review!

2)  Crash Course Ecology #8

3) Water Cycle review task cards, turned in at the end of class.

AT HOME:  Students need to bring their notebooks home periodically.  Parents, if you are not seeing a science notebook with any frequency, please insist that your child bring it home for them to update and for you to see.   Term 2 is by far the most difficult term of the year.  The pace is faster, the work is new and more difficult, plus we have SO many winter disruptions AND STEM fair!   Students are allowed to use my notebook to help organize their own, but they have to come see me to do that.  I recommend students update their notebooks every day during homebase, come see me during that time, or make arrangements to stay after school.  If notebooks are not up to date, students cannot access the curriculum required by the City of Quincy, the state frameworks, and the MCAS exam.   Other resources to help students access the curriculum include:  updates and files on ASPEN/new.schoolnotes.com, notebook photos on twitter @Glynnstem, an online textbook tailored to their curriculum at ck12.org all students have been invited to this resource via email), and a youtube.com channel with playlists tailored to the current unit of study.   Please let me know if any of these resources are not accessible.  Students can also sign up for computer time so that they may use the computers in the building.  I hope this helps, but if not please let me know and we will find something that does help :)

Aspen and new.schoolnotes.com are not always friendly - the computer system is overloaded and sometimes does not cooperate.  If you are looking for photos of the work we do daily, check my twitter feed @glynnstem.  It is much easier to take notebook pics and post straight from my phone, and way more reliable!
