all students have rec'd an email with the ck12 link and directions. There is plenty to do whether it snows or not! I will continue to post MCAS prep material as we move closer to the date. Bottom line: no matter how many interruptions we have in school, you need to know the material :/
See the emailed info below...
In case you got lost in STEM fair, have been absent, or just don't know what is going on, AND if you have not been on CK12, now is the time to get acquainted with the site. You will be using it for MCAS prep in the very near future. Please familiarize yourself with its features.
Our Group is AMS Grade 8 General Science. You probably used your Gmail password to log on.
From the HOME page, you will be able to see everything I have posted for March 2017. You may have to continue to scroll down for each item - it is a lot! However, it is better to use the other tabs as described below.
🚩In the Assignments sections you will find the activities I want you to do this week; I have posted several review tasks. In addition, you will need to complete some of the material found in SHARED RESOURCES to help you with those assignments. Here you will find the "FlexBook" for Unit 3: Lava Flows. 10 pages have been posted for basic concepts regarding Earth's Interior. Most of this information is review. You will be expected to have mastered all of these 10 basic topics before next Monday. Use the various types of resources in addition to the FlexBook: assessments, real world scenarios, study aids, etc.
Here is the log on info again if you didn't do it the first few times. Copy and paste the link...

We will definitely be a little behind on our LAVA FLOWS unit. Things you can to do prep for MCAS from home: check out the YouTube playlists on Lava Flows or all things Earth Science. Mainly we need to know: Earth's structure, processes, convection currents, continental drift, plate tectonics, sea floor spreading, mountain building. Understand things like the Himalayas, Hawai island chain, evidence of Pangaea, the mid ocean ridge, subduction zones, and deep ocean trenches are essential.
STEM Problem Solving: Mandatory Homework AND QUIZ grade due no later than Wednesday 08 MAR 17.
(Note: Today (Friday) is the LAST day to tell Ms. Glynn about equipment or electrical needs during STEM fair.)
